Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsMice bearing this allele were generated by crossing F2rl3tm1Cgh mice with mice constitutively expressing cre recombinase. PCR and Southern blot analysis showed that the expression of cre resulted in the excision of the floxed neo gene, leaving the lacZ transgene at the start codon of the endogenous gene. Comparisons of the results of beta-galactosidase staining of heterozygotes and in situ hybridization of wild-type mice, indicated that expression of the lacZ gene was controlled by the endogenous promoter.
