Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA cassette, containing a promoterless lacZ and neo, was inserted immediately downstream of the endogenous start codon. Western blot analysis of protein extracts obtained from cerebrum, cerebellum, and spinal cord tissue showed an absence of encoded protein in homozygous mutant mice. The expression pattern of beta-galactosidase showed a strong correlation to that of the endogenous gene. (J:22502)
