Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsMost of the coding region of the gene was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette facing the opposite orientation via homologous recombination leaving the first 22 codons intact. Northern blot analysis using a probe to the coding region showed decreased expression in the brain and almost no expression in testes of homozygous mutant animals. The low level of transcript detected is presumed to be Siah1b, which also hybridizes to the probe. (J:75489)
