Mutation details: The gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 1, which encodes the first transmembrane domain and first extracellular loop, with a PGK-neo cassette facing the opposite orientation via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant mice was confirmed by Northern blot analysis and immunofluorescent microscopy of liver tissues.
