Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Inserted expressed sequence, Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Gja1tm3(Gja5)Kwi expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe endogenous gene was deleted and replaced with Gja5 genomic sequence extending from 270 bp upstream of the start codon to 70 bp downstream of the stop codon. The transcription of Gja5 and the ablation of endogenous expression was shown by Northern blot analysis. The absence of endogenous protein was demonstrated by Western blot ananlysis of heart tissue, which also confirmed the presence of the Gja5 protein. (J:65112)
