Parent Cell Line:  RW-4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129X1/SvJ
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe sequences encoding transmembrane domains 3 and 4 were deleted and replaced with a PGK-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by RT-PCR analysis and Western blot of whole brain RNA and synatpic vesicles from newborn animals. Binding assays using proteins prepared from synaptic vesicles showed no binding activity in the homozygous mutants. (J:45184)
