Alliance: Odc1tm1Jlc page
Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:71462
Parent Cell Line:  W9.5/W95 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S1/Sv-Oca2+ Tyr+ Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsMost of exon 2 and all of exon 3 were replaced with an IRES-lacz-neo cassette. The deleted region encoded the first 35 amino acids of the endogenous protein, including the initiator methionine. A biochemical assay of extracts obtained from MEFs derived from heterozygous animals, showed enzymatic activity to be reduced by approximately half. (J:71462)
