Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:36149
Parent Cell Line:  W9.5/W95 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S1/Sv-Oca2+ Tyr+ Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe entire coding region of the endogenous locus was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Western blot analysis of homozygous mutant mice showed an absence of protein in olfactory epithelium and olfactory bulbs. ELISA showed the protein level in heterozygous mice to be 40-50% of that in wild-type mice. (J:36149)
