Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:68455
Parent Cell Line:  W9.5/W95 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S1/Sv-Oca2+ Tyr+ Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe oocyte-specific exon 1o and the proximal promoter region were deleted and replaced with a floxed HSV-tk-PGK-neo cassette. The resistance cassette was removed by transient expression of cre recombinase in correctly targeted ES cells. Immunohistochemical analysis of ovary sections from homozygous mutant animals confirmed the absence of gene expression in mutant oocytes. (J:68455)
