Insertion of gene trap vector
Vector: ROSABetageo

Mutation details: A ROSA Beta-geo gene trap vector randomly integrated into an intron between the two coding exons of the endogenous locus. Wild-type mRNA was undetected by RT-PCR analysis of total RNA obtained from homozygous mutant testes tissue. Transcript levels produced by adjacent genes, Madcam1 and Cdc34, were normal, indicating that they were unaffected by the insertion. The expression pattern of the integrated beta-galactosidase sequence was determined to be similar to that of the endogenous gene as determined by in situ hybridization.
