Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:70962

Genome scan was performed on 21 BXD (B = C57BL/6J, D = DBA/2J) recombinant inbred (RI) strains to identify loci affecting dopamine transporter (DAT) density in the neotriatum. Progenitor strain DBA/2J exhibits 50% more DAT binding sites in the neostriatum than progenitor strain C57BL/6J. A significant locus, Datd (dopamine transporter density), mapped to mouse Chromosome 19 from 8 cM - 11 cM with a LOD score of 4.7 in association with marker Pomc-ps1 at approximately 9 cM. DBA/2J-derived alleles confer increased DAT density at Datd. Datd may also be associated with psychostimulant-induced activity and thermal response to cocaine and methamphetamines. Suggestive loci associated with DAT density mapped to mouse Chromosome 4 (P = 0.008 at Pmv19), mouse Chromosome 7 (P = 0.005 at Xmmv76), mouse Chromosome 8 (P = 0.003 at D8Ncvs52 and P = 0.008 at Mpmv21), mouse Chromosome 12 (P = 0.006 at D12Ncvs49), and mouse Chromosome 16 (P = 0.0017 at D16Mit5).
