Notes
This locus and Tg(GH)3Mi are the sites of integration of the gene for human growth hormone into the DNA of mice obtained from eggs injected with the hormone gene in a plasmid vector. Heterozygotes for both insertions are normal, but homozygotes die prenatally. It is thought that disruption of native gene sequences by the insertions has inactivated the affected genes, producing recessive lethal mutations. The two mutations are not at the same locus.
