origin
Strain of Origin:  (C57BL/6J x SJL)F1
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(APOB)1102Sgy expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene contains a 79.5 kb P1 insert with the entire human APOB gene. RNA slot blot analysis detected transgene expression in the liver, with very small amounts expressed in the small intestine and heart. Western blot analysis of plasma from transgenic animals showed human apo-B100 as the predominant species of transgene product. (J:81265)

Notes
Founder 1102 carries 10 copies of the human APOB transgene and expresses the highest amount of transgene product. Nine other founder lines (4-42 copies of the transgene) were also established.
