Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe transgene consists of a mouse Tek promoter (2.1 kb HindIII segment including most of exon1), a lacZ reporter gene, a Tek1 enhancer element, and an SV40 polyadenylation sequence. The enhancer element is 1.7 kb genomic sequence (XhoI-KpnI restriction fragment) from inside the 5' half of intron 1. Expression was driven in endothelial cells. (J:39276)

Notes
In embryonic and adult transgenic mice on an FVB/N background, LacZ is expressed specifically in vascular endothelial cells.
