Mutation details: Sequence encompassing the exon encoding the essential transmembrane domain and portions of both the extracellular and cytomplasmic domains was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Western blot analysis detected reduced levels of protein in heterozygous embryos and no normal protein in homozygous embryos.
