Mutation details: The insertion of a single targeting vector containing neo disrupted both Cryab and Hspb2. All of exons 1 and 2 and a portion of exon 3 were deleted at the Cryab locus. All of exon 1 and a portion of exon 2 were deleted at the Hspb2 locus. Cryab protein was undetected by Western blot analysis of homozgous mutant mice. Northern blot analysis of homozygous mutant heart and skeletal muscle showed an absence of Hspb2 mRNA.
