origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:82471
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsGene targeting was used to flank exon 1 with a floxed PGK-neo cassette on one side and a loxP site on the other side. Correctly targeted ES cells were transiently transfected with a cre-recombinase plasmid to delete exon 1. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Northern blot and RT-PCR analysis. (J:82471)
