Mutation details: This allele, which encodes a truncated protein capable of localizing to the membrane but lacking the cytoplasmic tail, was generated by homologous recombination of a targeting vector containing a nonsense mutation at the fourth codon of the cytoplasmic tail. In addition, single loxP sites were left flanking the exon encoding the transmembrane domain.
