Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:56829

QTL analysis of 240 F2 mice derived from matings between C57BL/6J and A/J indicated a peak LOD of 6.8 for Aliq1 at 4 cM distal of D11Mit179. This finding is consistent with previous mapping results reported in J:50331, Prows DR; et al., Nat Genet 1997 Dec; 17(4):471-4.

J:50831

Mean survival time (MST) for mice exposed to ozone was analyzed in inbred strains of mice, The most variation was observed between strains A/J (A) and C57BL/6J (B) with resistance inherited as a dominant trait. Analysis of MST in AXB and BXA recombinant inbred strains (RI) showed a contimuum suggesting that more then one gene was involved in susceptibility. QTL analysis of 38 (AxB)F1 x A offspring identified a susceptibility locus on mouse Chromosome 11 2 cMs distal of D11Mit179. This susceptibility marker was identified as Aliq1.
