Interval mapping was performed on a (BALB/c x C57BL/6)F1 x (C3H x DBA/2)F1 cross to identify QTLs affecting the level of T cell subsets in virgin and mated animals at 8 and 18 months of age. A QTL associated with P-glycoprotein positive CD4 T cell subsetlevels, Pcd4ts1, mapped to 15.6 cM (D6Mit268) on mouse Chromosome 6 with statistical significance of P<0.05. Pcd4ts1 is associated with P-glycoprotein positive CD4 T cell levels in 18 month old mated mice.
