Mutation details: A null allele was generated when 45.4 kb of the endogenous locus were deleted by the random insertion of a transgenic construct. The deleted region extended from within intron 1 to 31.2 kb downstream of the stop codon. The transgenic construct was comprised of an inducible murine Mx1 promoter adjoined to human T cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV1) Tax followed by intron 2 and non-coding exon 3 of the murine beta-globin locus. Endogenous transcript was reported to be undetected in homozygous mutant mice.
