Mutation details: Exon 3 was disrupted by the insertion of a beta-galactosidase-neomycin resistance fusion gene preceded by an internal ribosomal entry site (IRES) via homologous recombination. The disrupted exon encoded the extracellular domain. Transcript was undetected by Northern blot analysis of homozygous mutant MEFs. No protien was detected in mutant mice by Western blot analyses using antibodies directed against the entire intracellular domain, the ectodomain, and the C-terminal. Furthermore, evidence of a soluble extracellular domain fragment was undetected.
