description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(K5-Ptgs2)675Kmd expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene is composed of a full length Ptgs2 cDNA without the 3' untranslated region fused to a bovine keratin 5 (K5) promoter. The bovine K5 promoter was used to drive transgene expression in basal keratinocytes of the interfollicular epidermis and in basal cells of the pilosebaceous unit. Transgene expression was observed in keratinocytes of the interfollicular stratum basale, the outer root sheath (ORS) cells of hair follicles, and the epithelial lining of sebaceous glands. Transgene expression was confirmed by RT-PCR analysis of stratified epithelial tissues. (J:70039)
