Mutation details: Exons 2 and 3 were replaced by a loxP site, an EGFP gene, a cDNA cassette containing exons 2 - 5 in inverse orientation and a floxed neomycin resistance gene. Lack of mRNA expression was demonstrated by Northern blot analysis. Although designed to be a cre dependent conditional allele capable of expressing either EGFP or Ig-alpha, neither of the inserted genes were ever expressed.
