Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:67846

23 BXD (B=C57BL/6J, D=DBA/2J) recombinant inbred (RI) strains and 218 animals from a (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J)F2 intercross were used to map sex-influenced QTLs associated with alcohol preference or alcohol acceptance. A panel of 1,550 informative markers was used for the BXD RI strains and (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J)F2 animals were typed for 101 microsatellite markers at an average spacing of 20 cM. Aaq2, a female-specific locus for alcohol acceptance maps to mouse Chromosome 12 at approximately 26 cM - 28 cM. Aaq2 is linked to alcohol acceptance at D12Mit3 and D12Mit36 in the RI strains and F2 intercross, respectively.

Suggestive loci for alcohol acceptance and alcohol preference mapped to mouse Chromosome 9 at 50.5 cM (P = 0.0047 at D9Byu4 for RI strains and D9Mit263 for F2 cross) and mouse Chromosome 2 at 30.5 cM (P = 0.0038 at Mdkc for RI strains and D2Mit367 for F2 cross), respectively.
