Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:52119

The strains BALB/cHeA and STS/A differ in the production of Il4 and Il10 after stimulation with concanavalin A (ConA). The genetic basis of this difference was analyzed using the recombinant congenic (RC) strains of the BALB/c - c - STS/Dem (CcS/Dem) series. The authors analyzed correlation between expression of Il4 and Il10 in 80 (CcS-20 x BALB/c)F2 hybrids after stimulation with ConA at a novel QTL, Cora1, marked by D5Mit63 on mouse Chromosome 5. Higher correlation was observed in homozygotes in either the BALB/c or STS/A allele than in heterozygotes (P = 0.0448).
