QTLs effecting body weight, obesity and muscle weight were found on mouse Chromosomes 1, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 17 and for leptin on 14 and insulin on chromosome 4. The cross used in the genome wide scan included approximately 400 F2 mice from a (DU6i x DBA/2)F1 intercross. DU6i is a strain selected for high body weight. 93 microsatellite markers were analyzed in the genome wide scan. Locations of the QTLs were provided by the authors and may not be equivalent to the closest microsatellites. Insulin-like growth factor 1 QTL 2 mapped to mouse Chromosome 18 to position 39.
