Mutation details: An 11 kb segment of the gene including exons 1 and 2 and encoding amino acids 2 to 123 was replaced with a lacZ/neo cassette. The cassette was fused in frame. Recombination was confirmed by Southern blot and PCR and RT-PCR indicated absence of gene expression in mutant mice.
