Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsCrossing of Pax3tm3(Pax7)Buck with mice expressing Cre in the germline create this allele in which the DsRed-FRT-puro-pA was excised, allowing expression of knocked in Pax7. In situ hybridization showed that Pax3 transcripts are detectable in mutant embryos, suggesting either the use of a cryptic promoter and/or alternative splicing, or leakiness of the 3' poly A sequence following the nLacZ. Immuno histochemistry indicates binding of antibodies to beta-gal in somites of mutants. (J:90568)
