Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Tcrb)93Vbo expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene contains a rearranged genomic segment derived from the Tcrb locus, and was constructed from B6 (Tcrb-V8.2,Tcrb-D) and BALB/c (Tcrb-J, Tcrb-C) sequences. Over 98% of T cells express the transgenic TCR-beta chain in hemizygous mice. The rearranged beta-chain sequence was isolated from an anti-H-Y, H-2Db-restricted CD8+ T cell clone, B6.2.16. Notes
In transgenic mice, T lymphocytes express the transgene on cell surfaces while the protein products encoded by endogenous Tcrb genes are not expressed. Most homozygous transgenic mice do not survive beyond postnatal week four.
