Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Inserted expressed sequence, Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA cDNA encoding Grin2b and a neomycin resistance gene was inserted directly 3' of the ATG and thereby replaced the endogenous signal sequence. In situ hybridization of brain sections indicated that Grin2b transcript was present in mutant mice. Western blot also indicated the lack of Grin2c protein, while Grin2b protein was present.
