Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:94684

A population of female (B10.Br/SgSnJ x NOD-H2k)F1 x NOD.H2k backcross animals were used to map QTLs associated with resistance to thymic deletion in vivo. The backcross animals segregated for 2 different transgenes referred to as TCR and insHEL. Doubly transgenic backcross animals were gentoyped for markers near known Idd (insulin dependent diabetes) loci to identify regions of linkage.

Rthyd1 (resistance to thymic deletion 1) mapped to 60 cM on mouse Chromosome 7 near D7Mit101 (P=0.008). This locusmaps near a previously identified sialadenitis QTL named Ssial3 (58.7 cM). NOD-derived alleles confer resistance to thymic deletion at Rthyd1.

Rthyd2 mapped to 37 cM on mouse Chromosome 13 near D13Mit39 (P=0.001). This locus is near a previously identified QTL named Idd14 (22 cM). B10.Br/SgSnJ-derived alleles confer resistance to thymic deletion at Rthyd2.

Rthyd3 mapped to 3 cM on mouse Chromosome 14 near D14Mit109 (P=0.004). This locus is near a previously identified QTL named Idd8 (3.5 cM). B10.Br/SgSnJ-derived alleles confer resistance to thymic deletion at Rthyd3. Rthyd4 mapped to 27.5 cM near D14Mit37 (P=0.006). This locus is near a previously identified QTL named Idd12 (12 cM).

Rthyd5 mapped to 22 cM on mouse Chromosome 15 near D15Mit229 (P=0.002). This locus in near a previously identified QTL for autoimmune arthritis named Paam1 (18 cM). NOD-derived alleles confer resistance to thymic deletion at Rthyd5.
