Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:87794More than 1000 animals from an (M16i x L6)F2 intercross were typed for 63 polymorphic markers over 19 autosomes to identify QTLs associated with growth traits. Body weight was measured at 21, 42, and 70 days of age. Tail length was measured at 70 days asan indicator of skeletal growth. Parental strain M16i exhibits high weight gain between 21 and 42 days of age while parental strain L6 exhibits low weight gain. LOD=3.3 was used as the cutoff for statistically significant linkage. On mouse Chromosome 2,an interval between D2Mit6 and D2Mit133 contains QTLs Egq1 (LOD=12.4), W6q1 (LOD=24.3), W10q9 (LOD=8.6), and W3q1 (LOD=17.9). The 1 LOD confidence interval of Egq1 spans 42.4 cM - 63.3 cM and peaks at 49.1 cM. M16i-derived alleles at Egq1 confer increasedearly growth with recessive or additive inheritance. This locus explains 13.9% of the variance. The 1 LOD support interval of W6q1 spans 45.8 cM - 57.5 cM with the peak at 50.8 cM. M16i-derived alleles at W6q1 confer increased body weight at 6 weeks of agewith recessive or additive inheritance. This locus explains 24.2 % of the variance. The 1 LOD support interval for W10q9 spans 42.4 cM - 63.3 cM and peaks at 50.8 cM. M16i-derived alleles at W10q9 confer increased body weight at 10 weeks of age with a dominant or additive mode of inheritance. This locus explains 8.6% of the variance. W3q1 peaks at 54.1 cM and the 1 LOD confidence interval spans 47.4 cM - 62.4 cM. M16i-derived alleles confer increased body weight at 3 weeks of age with a dominant mode ofinheritance. This locus explains 17.9% of the variance. An interval between D2Mit224 and D2Mit22 contains QTLs W3q2 (LOD=12), W6q2 (LOD=17.4), Egq2 (LOD=9.7), W10q1 (LOD=29), Lgq2 (LOD=5.5), and Lgaq2 (LOD=5.1). The 1 LODconfidence interval of W3q2 spans74 cM - 82.4 cM and peaks at 78.2 cM. M16i-derived alleles at W3q2 confer increased body weight at 3 weeks with a dominant mode of inheritance. The 1 LOD confidence interval of W6q2 spans 75.4 cM - 81 cM and peaks at 78.2 cM. M16i-derived alleles at W6q2confer increased body weight at 6 weeks of age with additive or recessive inheritance. This locus explains 5.7% of the variance. The 1 LOD confidence interval of Egq2 spans 74.7 cM -81.7 cM and peaks at 78.2 cM. M16i-derived alleles at Egq2 confer increasedearly growth with recessive inheritance. This locus explains 3.7% of the variance. The 1 LOD confidence interval of W10q1 spans 76.8 cM - 81.7 cM and peaks at 79.6 cM. M16i-derived alleles at W10q1 confer increased bodyweight at 10 weeks of age with additive or recessive inheritance. This locus explains 9.4% of the variance. The 1 LOD confidence interval of Lgq2 spans 77.5 cM - 92.5 cM and peaks at 82.4 cM. M16i-derived alleles at Lgq2 confer increased late growth with additive or recessive inheritance. This locus explains 2.2% of the variance. The 1 LOD support interval of Lgaq2 spans 76.8 cM - 93.7 cM and peaks at 82.4 cM. M16i-derived alleles confer increased late growth adjusted for 6 week body weight with additiveinheritance. This locus explains 2.2%of the variance. Tailq2 maps to an interval between D2Mit22 and D2Mit49. The 1 LOD confidence interval of Tailq2 spans 83.9 cM - 95.5 cM and peaks at 91.2 cM (LOD=7.2). M16i-derived alleles at Tailq2 confer increased tail length with additive or dominant inheritance. This locus explains 1.7% of the variance. Tailq4 maps to an interval between D2Mit49 and D2Mit148. The 1 LOD confidence interval of Tailq4 spans 95 cM - 101.5 cM and peaks at 97.5 cM (LOD=7.1). M16i-derived alleles at Tailq4 confer increased tail length with additive inheritance. |
