Mutation details: The first coding exon was replaced by a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination in an ES cell line in which the first two coding exons of Stat5a had already been replaced with a hygromycin resistance cassette. This ES cell line was previously used to produce the Stat5atm1Jni mouse. The Stat5b targeting vector is the same one used to produce the Stat5btm1Jni allele. N-terminally truncated proteins are found at significant levels in the lymphoid lineage by Western Blot analysis (J: 122463).
