Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:98292

QTLs linked to the trans regulation of genes involved in the corticotropin-releasing factor system were mapped using male animals from 28 BXD recombinant inbred lines (B=C57BL/6J; D=DBA/2J). Transcript abundance of Crh, Crhr1, Crhbp, and Avp were used asquantitative traits. Parental strain DBA/2J exhibits lower transcript abundance of all 4 genes compared to parental strain C57BL/6J. A panel of 975 polymorphic loci was used for linkage analysis.

Significant linkage to Crh expression mapped to mouse Chromosome 12 between 54 cM and 55 cM (D12Mit280). This locus is named Crhtaq2 (Crh transcript abundance QTL 2), and the 95% confidence interval of Crhtaq2 spans 19 cM. A potential candidate gene mapping near Crhtaq2 is Ckb (55 cM). Dps2 (55 cM) is a previously identified QTL mapping near Crhtaq2. Significant linkage to Avp expression mapped to 13 cM on chromosome 12 near D12Mit136. This locus is named Avptaq2 (Avp transcript abundance QTL 2), and the 95% confidence interval spans 22 cM. Suggestive linkage to Crhbp expression maps near this locus at 19 cM. Significant linkage to Crhr1 expression maps to 37 cM near D12Mit5. This locus is named Crhr1taq2 (Crhr1 transcript abundance QTL 2), and the 95% confidence interval spans 43 cM.
