Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:92444

Susceptibility to astrocytoma was investigated in NPcis mice on a C57BL/6J background. NPcix are informative because they carry alleles which modify the effects of mutant Nf1 and Trp53 genes in the development of astrocytoma which is similar to strain 129S4/SvJae. A region between D11Mit271 and D11Mit285 was indicated as including genes which may have a modifying effect on the progression of astrocytoma. SNP analysis showed as many as 41 potential candidate genes within the Mastr region.
