Idd25 exhibits additive inheritance.
Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:100365Linkage analysis was performed on 185 animals from a (NOD/Lt x NOR.NOD-(Il1-D2Mit144)/Lt)F2 intercross to identify new diabetes resistance loci. Parental strain NOD/Lt is susceptible to type 1 diabetes. NOR.NOD-(Il1-D2Mit144) is a diabetes-resistant congenic line carrying NOD/Lt-derived DNA from Il1 (73 cM) to D2Mit144 (97 cM) on a NOR/Lt genetic background. The congenic interval replaces the Idd13 resistance locus with NOD/Lt susceptibility alleles. Linkage to type 1 diabetes resistance in females mapped to 61.9 cM on mouse Chromosome 4 near D4Mit71 (LOD=5.87). This locus is designated Idd25 (insulin dependent diabetes susceptibility 25) and shows overlap with previously identified diabetes QTLs Idd11 (64.6 cM) and Idd9 (42.6 cM). NOR/Lt-derived alleles at Idd25 confer resistance to type 1 diabetes in females with an additive mode of inheritance.Diabetes resistance in female animals mapped near D1Mit3 (11 cM, LOD=3.08) and D1Mit232 (20.8 cM, LOD=3.04) on mouse Chromosome 1. Peak linkage is predictedat 24 cM - 35 cM. This locus is named Idd26 (insulin dependent diabetes susceptibility 26) and shows overlap with previously identified diabetes QTL Idd5b (41 cM). NOR/Lt-derived alleles at Idd26 confer resistance to type 1 diabetes in females.Suggestive linkage to diabetes resistance in females mapped to mouse Chromosome 11 between D11Mit87 (27.5 cM) and SNP 11-064063416N with LOD=2.30-2.34. |
