Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:102035

Data from Leamy et al 1999 were reanalyzed to assess loci involved in early and late skull development. The data set includes 535 (LG/J x SM/J)F2 animals. Genome scan was performed with 76 informative markers covering 19 autosomes. Parental strain LG/J exhibits larger body size compared to parental strain SM/J. Early skull development traits phenotyped are cranial vault width, cranial vault height, and cranial vault length. Late skull development traits phenotyped are facial height, width, and length, and zygomatic arch width and length. Loci reaching the 5% significance level are reported below. Loci colocalizing with previously identified QTL from the Leamy et al 1999 study are represented using Skull# symbols. Novel loci are represented by the symbolsSdtq# (skull development trait QTL #). For full descriptions of QTL-trait associations refer to Table 2 of this reference. Most of these loci interact epistatically.
