Notes |
Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:32436SL/Kh mice are resistant to spontaneous B lymphoma, whereas SL/Ni mice are susceptible. In order to genetically map the locus or loci responsible for the resistant phenotype, various combinations of backcrosses were established using SL/Kh and SL/Ni miceand then genotyping the backcross offspring for 40 microsatellite marker loci covering 60% of the genome. Chi-square analysis showed that the resistant/susceptible phenotype segregated significantly with mouse Chromosome 4 marker D4Mit39. Thus a locus forthis recessive phenotype (Lyr2) maps with mouse Chromosome 4 to a region approximately 20 cMs from the centromere. The SL/Ni-derived allele confers resistance to spontaneous B lymphomas. Genetic markers flanking the Lyr2 interval are D4Mit18 (5.2 cM) andD4Mit17 (31 cM). The Lyr2 region includes Cd72 (22.5 cM, formerly Lyb2) and Mup1 (27.8 cM). A previously mapped lymphoma resistance locus named Foc1 (31 cM) overlaps with Lyr2. The lymphoma resistance locus Lyrb (40 cM) maps distal to Lyr2. |
