Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, No functional change)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA stop cassette flanked by two Frt sites was inserted between the fourth and fifth exons. Upon Flp expression, the allele resumes function as the stop cassette is removed. (J:104860)

Notes
Mouse embryo fibroblasts derived from chimeric mice made with Dnmt1tm2Jae/Dnmt1tm4Jae ES cells in which imprinting had been eliminated (J:104860) display a significantly faster growth rate with nearly half (47%) of cells in the G2 or M phase of the cell cycle. These MEF cells become spontaneously immortalized. The chimeric mice experience widespread tumorigenesis.
