Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:98477QTLs associated with novelty/stress-induced locomotor activation were mapped using a series of recombinant inbred (RI) and recombinant congenic (RC) strains derived from C57BL/6J and A/J progenitor strains. Progenitor strain C57BL/6J exhibits greater activation of locomotor activity when placed in a novel open field environment compared to progenitor strain A/J. 1159 animals from the AXB/BXA RI series were genotyped with a panel of 780 polymorphic markers. 13 AcB and 31 BcA RC strains were genotyped witha panel of 625 polymorphic markers. In the AcB/BcA RC population, a locus at 29.5 cM on mouse Chromosome 3 near D3Mit185 showed significant linkage to locomotor activation in a novel environment. This locus is designated Nsila2 (novelty/stress induced locomotor activation 2). The C57BL/6J-derived allele at Nsila2 is associated with increased novelty/stress induced activation of locomotor activity. A second locus with significant linkage to locomotor activation mapped to 64.1 cM near D3Mit110. The QTL interval spans 64.1 cM - 76.2 cM. This locus is designated Nsila3 (novelty/stress induced locomotor activation 3). The A/J-derived allele at Nsila3 is associated with increased novelty/stress induced activation of locomotor activity. A potential candidate gene mapping near Nsila3 is Hnl (63.7 cM).J:170709Linkage analysis was performed on 64 BXD RI strains (n = 528) to identify QTL associated with adrenal weight in females. QTL Fawq1 maps to 127 - 129.5 Mb on Chromosome 3 with a peak LOD score of 4.267 in linkage with female adrenal weight. DBA/2J alleles increase adrenal weight at the Fawq1 locus. The protein coding genes Pitx2 and Hnl have been identified as potential Fawq1 candidate genes.Suggestive QTL for female adrenal weight were mapped to chromosomes 1, 3, 10, and 14. |
