Notes |
Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:9292(CLA x BALB/cJPt)F2 mice were used to determine the following recombination percentages on Chromosome 15: Mupm-1 - 5 +/- 2.7% - Myc (n = 66); Mupm1 - 10 +/- 4.2% - Ly6 (n = 50); Mupm1 - 12 +/- 4.6% - Pdgfb (n = 50); and Mupm1 - 22 +/- 5.2% - Gpd1 (n= 64). The suggested gene order is Mupm1, Myc, Ly6, Pdgfb and Gpd1. No Raw data presented. Mupm1 (major urinary protein modifier 1) is a recessively inherited locus derived from the BALB/cJPt strain which confers decreased excretion of major urinary protein (MUP) band 4.1 in male animals.Mupm1 maps very close to an alpha-fetoprotein regulatory locus named Afr1 (28.4 cM).J:9344The cosegregation of Afr1b and Gd-1c in approximately 70% of the progeny from F2 crosses between BALB/c and either C57BL/6J or DBA/2J mice, enable the linkage analysis of Afr-1 with other Chromosome 15 markers. The distance between Afr1b and Gpd1c was estimated as 25 cM in DBA/2J cross and 32 cM in the C57BL/6J cross. Further analysis of the C57BL/6J F2 cross by D Meruelo demonstarted that Afr-1 is about 20 cM from Pdgfb and 15 cM from Ly6 on Chromosome 15. Further analysis by R. Duncan using results from an F2 cross between BALB/cJ and CLA demonstarte that Afr1 and Gpd1 are about 25 cM apart. Using this same F2 cross from Duncan, Myc was linked to Afr1 by one recombinant in 21 progeny. 27 male mice from this cross also showed linkage of Afr1 and Mupm1 with 4 recombinations. Linkage was also observed with Myc, Ly6, Pdgfb and Gpd1. The following map order was provided: Centromere Mupm1 - 7 cM - Afr1 - 2.4 cM - Myc - 2 cM - Ly6 5 cM - Pdgfb - 14 cM - Gpd1. |
