Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Ckm-Prkaa2*K45R)1Mbb expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene contains the full length cDNA of rat Prkaa2 with the lysine at residue 45 (residue critical for ATP binding and hydrolysis) changed to arginine and tagged at the 5'end with a myc epitope under the control of the muscle creatine kinase promoter. Expression of endogenous Prkaa2 is completely undetectable and transgene expression occurs in skeletal and cardiac muscle. (J:110092)
