Mutation details: A human genomic YAC clone (35EB2) that encompasses the caspase 3 gene was used to create the transgene. This construct contains all seven exons of the gene and the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of human caspase 3, as well as 80 kb of upstream and 50 kb of downstream regulatory sequences. Expression of the line F18 transgene is essentially identical to that of the murine protein with highest levels being detected in the spleen, thymus, liver, kidney and brain. An additional line, F57, was also created.
