description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Dominant negative, Humanized sequence, Inducible, Inserted expressed sequence)
Inducer:    doxycycline/tetracycline
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(tetO-BMPR2*T504)1Jwst expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsSeven copies of the tetracycline responsive element and the CMV minimal promoter were used to drive the expression of a dominant-negative mutant BMPR2. The BMPR2 mutation is an insertion of a T at base 504 in the kinase (4th) domain of the protein, resulting in a premature stop 18 amino acids into the kinase domain. These transgenic mice were crossed to Tg(Tagln-rtTA)E1Jwst mice to obtain mice with inducible, muscle-specific expression of dominant-negative BMPR2. (J:98898)
