Notes |
Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:122918Linkage analysis was performed on 276 (C3H/HeNrs x C57BL/6JNrs)F2 animals to identify QTLs for radiation sensitivity. Twelve-week old animals were subjected to 2.5 Gy whole-body irradiation and assessed for jejunal crypt cell apoptosis. A panel of 109 SNP markers spaced at 20 Mb intervals was used for genome scan. Parental strain C57BL/6JNsr displays higher apoptotic score (AS) compared to C3H/HeNrs. Significant linkage to radiation sensitivity mapped to 42.6 Mb on mouse Chromosome 15 with a LOD score of 3.91 at SNP marker rs3690257. This locus explains 6% of the variance and is named Radsvq1 (radiation sensitivity QTL 1). C57BL/6JNrs-derived alleles at Radsvq1 confer increased radiation sensitivity with recessive inheritance. Rapop5 (23.5 cM) is a previously identified radiation sensitivity QTL mapping near Radsvq1. Suggestive linkages to radiation sensitivity were also detected at 12.8 Mb (LOD=2.22 at rs3726322), 71.4 Mb (LOD=3.2 at rs3088560), and 87.5 Mb (LOD=2.24 at rs3679946). C57BL/6JNrs-derivedalleles at these loci also confer increased radiation sensitivity.Suggestive linkage to radiation sensitivity mapped to 48.8 Mb (LOD=2.63 at rs3023210) and 95.3 Mb (LOD=2.76 at rs3722169) on mouse Chromosome 9. C57BL/6JNrs-derived alleles at these lociconfer increased radiation sensitivity. Suggestive linkage to radiation sensitivity also mapped to 34 Mb (LOD=2.11 at rs3023444) on mouse Chromosome 17 and 48.2 Mb (LOD=2.24 at rs3023467) on mouse Chromosome 18. C3H/HeNrs-derived alleles at the chromosome 17 locus confer increased radiation sensitivity, while C57BL/6JNrs-derived alleles at the chromosome 18 locus increase radiation sensitivity. |
