Mutation details: The cDNA encoding the three-repeat human fetal tau (MAPT) protein (shortest human isoform) without the N-terminal insert was inserted after the mouse Hmgcr promoter region, exon 1 (not translated) and major intron 1, in the pHMG vector. The construct was microinjected into (C57BL/6J x CBA)F2 fertilized embryos. Line 23 was established. Human tau (MAPT) protein is detected in cell bodies and dendrites of neurons in many brain areas in adult animals with Western blots.
