Mutation details: These mice are derived from chimeric mice produced during creation of the Ightm1.1Rsky mouse strain. Upon crossing the chimeras with Cre expressing transgenic mice, the CH region of the Igh locus is deleted and an inversion of the targeted construct also occurs. This places the mutant Ighg1 into the right orientation to express functional protein. B cells from these mice were found to exclusively express IgG1 antibodies in both a soluble and membrane bound form.
