description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Ins2-Chrm3*)1Jwe expresses 1 gene

Tg(Ins2-Chrm3*)1Jwe expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe rat insulin 2 promoter was used to drive expression of the gene in beta cells. Chrm3 contains two modifications (an N-terminal 9 amino acid hemagglutinin epitope tag was added and a central portion of the third intracellular loop, Ala274 to Lys469, was deleted) that do not change its functionality but allow the researchers to distinguish it from the endogenous gene product.
