Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:134633
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsAn frt-flanked betageo cassette with a 3' loxP site and a 5' SV40-polyA tail was inserted downstream of exon 8 and an additional loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 8. Transient flp expression in ES cells was used to remove the betageo cassette and leave exon 8 floxed. Cre expression in germline cells removed exon 8 and created a null allele. No gene product was detected by PCR in homozygous null embryos. (J:134633)
